The post advertised is for 37 hours net, however the Ministry of Defence offers a range of flexibilities to enable a better work-life balance for employees. Flexible working, Part-time working and Job Share working patterns will be considered.
The RD SW & RFCA Executive Admin Support Officer is responsible to HOE(FB) for the provision of registry, secretarial and administrative support for the DIO Support Unit.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring an efficient administrative support service is provided to all staff at the site and that all activity conforms with all agreed DIO TLB processes and operating procedures, particularly those which are detailed under the key infrastructure process for: providing an efficient administrative support service.
Candidates should note that this post is lifed due to the expected closure of Fort Blockhouse, anticipated as mid to late 2022.

Demonstrate a personal commitment to the DIO Guiding Principles
Support line manager in delivering departmental goals
Ensure own compliance with mandatory requirements e.g. H&S training
Promote strong working relationships both within the team and with other teams
To manage the daily routine business of the Support Unit Fort Blockhouse (SUFB) Registry.
To staff routine incoming/ outgoing correspondence on matters relating SUFB/ DIO business as appropriate.
Any other relevant administrative support tasks as directed by the HOE.
Sign routine correspondence in relation to Administrative matters contained within the role and purposes on behalf of the HOE(FB).
Making the best use of resources including stationary.
3. Focal Point:
Unit focal point for DIO Departmental policies.
Unit focal point for all Lodger Units.
Unit focal point and distribution point for all incoming Support Unit signals.
Liaise with all the Lodger Units to achieve his/her aims and objectives.
Liaise with internal and external organisations to achieve his/her aims and objectives.
To produce agendas/minutes for SUFB instigated meetings.
To conduct the duties of Secretary for HODs, Site Closure, Lodger Units and SHEF Committee meetings.
It is essential that the successful candidate holds the following skills and experience:
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work on own initiative within a wide ranging but structured environment
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines
Use of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, One note) to support work outputs.
Some travel and occasional overnight stay may be required.

DIO Regional Delivery SW&RFCA (Reserve Forces & Cadets Associations) are responsible for the effective management of the Defence Estate in the South West Region, maintaining the MOD built estate and supporting our Customers throughout an extensive geographical area. We are committed to the effective delivery of appropriate Infrastructure Services, Facilities Maintenance and customer directed additional works programmes. Specifically, the team at FBH are responsible for the provision and management of all services provided to keep the site in a safe and compliant manner, as well as ensuring all operational outputs are maintained to an appropriate standard.
