This is a part-time post of (insert hours) per week not inclusive of meal breaks.

Job description

The RD SW & RFCA Security Support Officer is responsible for providing support to the SHEF/Security team and is accountable to the Head of Establishment. The post holder is authorised to liaise with internal departments and external security authorities on routine security related matters. This is a critical post to ensure the security of the site meets the statutory requirements of JSP 440 and other related Security directives. The main duties will be security related tasks and providing an efficient administrative support service.

Candidates should note that this post is lifed due to the expected closure of Fort Blockhouse, anticipated as mid to late 2022.

Responsibilities1. Leadership:

Demonstrate a personal commitment to the DIO Guiding Principles
Support line manager in delivering departmental goals
Ensure own compliance with mandatory requirements e.g. H&S training
Promote strong working relationships both within the team and with other teams

2. Passes/Vetting/Clearance:

To process and produce Identification and Car passes for permanent employees, permanent and short term contractors and Lodger unit members using the Strategic Imaging System (SISYS).
To be the nominated and registered sponsor for the Cerberus online security vetting database.
To liaise with DVA and other agencies for Personnel and contractors clearance levels.
To process clearance procedures in accordance with the Defence Manual of Security JSP 440 Vol 2.
Hold and maintain the unit asset register. To liaise with personnel and lodger unit representatives on all aspects of security furniture.

3. Security:

To act as alternate Crypto Custodian.
To ensure rotation of security keys is undertaken at 6 monthly periods or as required.
To ensure safe combinations are changed at 6 monthly periods or when required.
To assist the line management chain with security related issues as required.

4. Administration:

Administration of Security Questionnaire (MOD Form 1109 or Cerberus account) for contractors.
Administration of Security documentation for all Lodger Units.
Basic checks carried out on all staff and contractors prior to pass issue.
Collation of Foreign National visitor details.
Processing and production of Recreational (Gymnasium) passes, maintaining a data base record.
General administration enquiries, liaison with DIO PSyA, National Security Vetting Agency and other Security controllers as necessary.
Update forms and passes as required.
Maintain archived security documentation

It is essential that the successful candidate holds the following skills and experience:

Strong interpersonal skills
Self-confident
Ability to work on own initiative within a wide ranging but structured environment
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines
Use of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, One note) to support work outputs.

Travel Requirements

Some travel and occasional overnight stay may be required.

DIO Regional Delivery SW&RFCA (Reserve Forces & Cadets Associations) are responsible for the effective management of the Defence Estate in the South West Region, maintaining the MOD built estate and supporting our Customers throughout an extensive geographical area. We are committed to the effective delivery of appropriate Infrastructure Services, Facilities Maintenance and customer directed additional works programmes. Specifically, the team at FBH are responsible for the provision and management of all services provided to keep the site in a safe and compliant manner, as well as ensuring all operational outputs are maintained to an appropriate standard.
